You might ask what exactly is a niche anyway and where do i find one.
A niche is a focused area or a particular group or section of a market, for example look at the group fishing this is a group of people you could market to .Fishing is a very large market with lots of competition so lets narrow our market down some.we could look at fly fishing or go further and look at salt water fly fishing. you need to find a group or a niche that is hungry for something or has a problem that needs solving.

Have you ever had niche block, just could not come up with any thing you thought was a good niche. Well lets look at a few ways to get some ideas. There are thousands upon thousands of niches on line and some of them you would probably have never thought of without doing some research.
One good place i look at is DMOZ This is an open directory of sites and the largest maintained by humans .The categories are large but if you choose one you will be taken to sub directories and clicking in one will take you even deeper into the category . Using this site for a little research in a few categories will give you several ideas on niches you can further research your choices . The next step would be doing some keyword research and build a big list of keywords to use in your campaign.
you need to take your lost to google and do a google search on each of your choices. This will give you an ida of how much compitition you have. also search google for forums on your topic , visit some of these and see what they are talking about to get an idea of what type of product they may be interested in
I will cover keyword research and tools later, but one tool i use is Semrush you can type in the url of one of your competers sites you found in your google search and it will tell you what keywords they are ranking for. the free version only returns 10 words but this will give you a start on your keyword list . Compare several different sites to see if they are using more keywords.
